The curse of annabelle is based on real events. Cursed Annabelle doll

The names of Americans Lorraine and Ed Warren are known throughout the world as loud, sensational stories on the investigation of paranormal phenomena. For several decades married couple  actively engaged in the struggle with demonic beings, helping people suffering from evil forces. For this, successful researchers received the honorary title of "ghost hunters".

Many years of experience and a large number of unusual items that fell into the hands of the family led to the idea to systematize their knowledge and tell them about the whole world. Thus appeared and soon became the famous Warren Museum of Occultism.

Let's find out together what this wonderful place is, and we'll get to know more closely the brave demonologists.

Family history

Paranormal phenomena have accompanied the life of future researchers since childhood. Edward Warren has repeatedly found in his house in Bridgeport the ghost of an elderly lady coming at night. Her distinct steps and heavy breathing filled the horror of the soul of the young boy. Father Ed police officer, as he could, calmed his household. He did not believe in ghosts, and believed that everything had a logical explanation.

Little Ed, left alone with his fears, was forced to eventually learn to deal with them. The young researcher read a lot, accumulating knowledge about the other world. Gradually, he began to recognize ghosts, to understand how they can be neutralized. The Warren's occult museum was still in the immense future, but the young researcher had already begun to make his first steps to him.

At the age of sixteen, Edward met with the lovely girl Lorraine Rita Moran. Getting closer to her, the young man learned that his girlfriend is endowed with a unique gift of clairvoyance. She knew how to see the inner glow of people, to feel their aura. Common interests brought young people closer, and a few years later they got married.

The beginning of an unusual career

After serving in the Navy during the Second World War, Edward entered the Art School. However, the talented artist was dissatisfied with the training, believing that he wastes his time in studying unnecessary subjects. After abandoning his studies, Warren bought a small second-hand car and began to travel around the country selling his own paintings. It was with the journey that the marital interest began.

Ed was always drawn to places in which inexplicable and mysterious phenomena occurred.

Using the talent of the artist, Warren depicted houses where there are evil spirits, and offered to look at the drawing for their masters. It was like homeowners, and they invited unusual guests to themselves. The young researcher carefully examined the estate in search of phenomena similar to his memories from childhood. He analyzed everything that was happening, he gave people useful tips, tried to expel the evil forces on his own.

Professional growth

Interest in supernatural events continued to interest the broader society. In 1952, Ed and Lorraine Warren created an organization for the study of paranormal phenomena. Voluntary society united many people of various professions: doctors, scientists, police, psychologists. Using theoretical knowledge, practical skills, researchers developed new methods and methods for fighting evil spirits.

Warren created a training system that helps people to detect evil forces and be able to resist it. In their work, they often turned to the help of representatives of the Catholic Church.

For more than fifty years the Warren couple, with their numerous assistants, has been engaged in research and practical activities in the field of occultism. They have accumulated vast experience and have become by right considered the best experts in the paranormal field. The couple claimed that they had successfully investigated over ten thousand intricate cases. From all the houses in which they had to work, the researchers left themselves memorable items with which terrible and mysterious events were connected. The Museum of Ed and Lorraine Warren is a collection of unique items, each of which is endowed with dark power and poses a considerable danger to ordinary people. To neutralize the negative effect on others, the priest daily conducts a church service in the museum and sprinkles the room with holy water.

Unusual exhibits

In 2006, Ed passed away, bequeathing his wife and children to continue their work. Today his family lives in a small quiet town of Monroe, located near New York. A small cozy house and a museum of the Warren family are at the same address. The residential building was built in 1960 by Lorraine's own project. The house is built on seven levels in full accordance with the number, blessed Catholic traditions.

The premise on the ground floor, reserved for the museum, is poorly lit, it is cold and uncomfortable. The humid air is filled with stench, which is interrupted by a mixture of aromatic essences. The room is filled with many different things, among them books, toys, pictures, photos, pieces of furniture. In an unusual collection there is even a piano, which itself played at night.

Mysterious Ann Doll

The most famous toy from the museum collection is the Anabel doll. The mysterious story associated with it began in the distant 1970s.

Young girl Donna studied in college, was preparing to become a nurse. For her birthday, her mother gave her an antique doll named Anne Doll. The gift fell on the girl's heart, and the girl often put the toy on her bed.

Over time, Donna and her friend in the room began to observe strange things: rag Annie inexplicably changed her position regularly. Every time after returning home, the girls were not found in the places where they had left the doll the day before. Then in the house began to appear notes on scraps of parchment paper. On them, an inept childish hand, requests for help were withdrawn. Once on the body of the doll, Donna found red spots resembling blood. This made the girls turn to the Warren.

Experts-demonists have found out, that in a toy the impure force, bringing harm to associates has lodged. Above her, magical actions were carried out, neutralizing the evil force. Subsequently, the toy took the most honorable place in the collection of occultism. For the doll created a special locker, which does not allow you to move and does not allow you to touch it. Lorraine is convinced that the demonic force is still inside Anabel, she is waiting for her time to go free.

Mysterious phenomena on a wide screen

Warren created a lot of books about paranormal phenomena, where they described cases from their practice. Hollywood directors could not ignore the mystical theme, so some successful investigations became the basis for making movies. "Amityville Horror", "Ghosts in Connecticut" and "Enchantment" - successful adaptation of the most high-profile cases of ghosts and evil spirits.

A couple of years ago on the big screen came John Leonetti's horror film The Curse of Annabelle. Cash in the US amounted to several tens of millions of dollars. However, in France, the picture was soon banned from the show, since the audience had unmotivated outbreaks of aggression during the session. Perhaps the reason is that the film is based on real events that occurred in 1970, when a rag doll became a nightmare for its owners.

A Dangerous Gift

In 1970, Donna, finishing the course of nurses, my mother gave for her birthday rag doll  Annie, bought it in an antique store. The doll looked quite friendly - its eyes wide open, a sweet smile, red hair, and instead of a nose - a triangle of red cloth. In the apartment, which Donna filmed with a friend of Angie, Annie identified the place - on the bed mistress.

After a while, the girls began to notice that the doll is changing position. In the mornings, Donna, having made a bed, sat Annie in a certain position, and when she returned from school, she found out that if she, for example, left the doll with her arms crossed, then in the evening they were straightened at the seams, and vice versa. All this seemed strange, but nothing more. Really the girls got scared when, one day, coming home, they found Annie kneeling on the chair. And, if Donna tried to put the doll on her knees, she fell. Next time the doll was already standing on the floor, leaning on a chair. It seemed that her movement stopped the sound of the opening door.

And then began to appear notes written in pencil on the parchment with a childish awkward hand: "Help me", "Call me", etc. But in the house the girls did not have any parchment or pencils! The first thing that came to mind was that someone outside has access to their apartment and dig into their things. Donna and her friend arranged several traps, which they saw in spy movies, but it did not work. Traps remained untouched, and the doll continued to live its own life.

Gradually the girls got used to the "live doll". It would seem that Annie was friendly, and even sometimes in the apartment were found sweets, which no one bought - gifts from the doll.

However, the peace came briefly. Two months later Donna, returning home, saw that Annie had again moved from the bedroom to the living room. When the girl approached the doll, she was seized with horror - her hands and clothes were smeared with blood that had poured from her chest.

Spiritual Session

Frightened friends turned to the medium for help, and she offered to spend a seance. As a result, it was possible to find out that once on the site of the house in which the girls lived, there was a wasteland and the body of a seven-year-old girl Annabel Higgins, who died under unclear circumstances, was found on it. The girl told the medium that she was happy in these places, and asked permission to stay, settling into a doll. Donna later said: "We have allowed her. We are nurses and face the suffering of people every day. We have a feeling of compassion. Since then, we have started to call the Annabelle doll. " But the girls did not even suspect what consequences would entail their consent to leave Annabelle's spirit with them in the same house.

Attack

Girls often visited a friend named Lowe. He did not like the doll from the very beginning, he subconsciously felt the threat coming from her. The young man repeatedly advised his girlfriends to get rid of Annie, but they just waved. And Donna even said that it's like throwing a baby. It seems that the doll also disliked Lowe.

One night the young man woke up in his apartment, seized with an incomprehensible panic. After looking around, he did not notice anything unusual at first. But, looking at the foot of the bed, Lowe was numb with terror. At his feet sat the Annabelle doll. Then she began to move slowly up the boy's body. Reaching the neck, it began to strangle him. Then Low did not remember anything - he lost consciousness. Recovering himself, he decided to get rid of the doll, despite the fact that he understood: the spirit of Annabelle thus forbade the young man to interfere in his affairs.

The next day, Angie and Lowe were discussing something in the living room when a strange sound was heard in Donna's room. As soon as the young man approached the bedroom door, the sounds stopped. Having gained courage, he opened the door and saw that the room was completely empty, only in the corner lay a doll. Approaching her, Lowe felt as if someone was standing behind him. But, turning around, did not notice anyone. Suddenly an unbearable pain pierced his chest, and he cried out. Angie screamed to find a guy in the blood lying on the floor in a state of shock. When, returning to the living room, Lowe took off his shirt, it became clear that his chest was clawed.

Exorcism

The young people realized that they could not do without the help of specialists, and they turned to the priest Father Kuk, who introduced them to the demonologist Ed Warren and his wife, the medium of Lorraine. Having studied the situation in detail, Warren concluded: "Annabel is not! And never was. You were deceived. We are dealing with a demon. " According to the demonologist, spirits do not possess inanimate objects, they are powerful only over people. What moved the doll could not be the spirit of man, it was a demon. It was he who moved Annie, creating the illusion that she was alive. And it was he who introduced himself as the spirit of a little girl, in order to get permission through compassion to stay and interfere in the life of the girls, and later to move into one of them.

Ed stressed that this something was an evil entity, and advised to conduct a rite of exorcism. He was led by Father Cook. At the same time, no demonic doll showed any resistance. After the ceremony, Father Cook assured those present that the demon would no longer spoil their lives. However, Warren's couple was not so optimistic, so they put the doll in a sack and took it with them.

Unfinished Story

Father Cook, saying goodbye to the Warren, advised them to go home country roads, so as not to expose other drivers of danger, because no one could know what to expect from a demonic passenger. And, as it turned out, he was right. On the way to the car several times at the bends refused brakes, a couple of times they narrowly escaped the collision. Finally Ed's patience snapped. He stopped the car, sprinkled Annabelle with holy water and crossed it. We arrived home without any adventures.

The doll was at peace with the Warren at first, and then again took up the old one. She moved independently and ascended into the air. Unable to cope with the demon, Ed invited the exorcist father of Bradford to help. He did not behave very carefully, grabbed the doll and began to shout at her: "You're just a doll, you can not hurt!" - and threw Annabel into a chair. Ed and Lorraine were concerned, because Father Bradford behaved defiantly with the doll, which was supposed to entail trouble. So it happened: on the way home the exorcist got into an accident and miraculously survived.

Deciding that Annabelle represents a mortal danger to humans, the Warren placed her in a sealed glass box with the inscription: "Do not open." It became an exhibit in their occult museum.

Once the museum was visited by a young couple. The guy, wanting to impress the girl, began to knock on the glass box and ask the doll to show the claws. Ed told them to leave the museum immediately. On the way back, a motorcycle young man  crashed into a pillar, the guy died on the spot, and the girl spent a year in the hospital. And this is not an isolated case of revenge Annabelle.

In 2006 Ed Warren died, and 80-year-old Lorraine continues to keep the museum. Until 2014 the doll was unable to leave the confinement, but she changed her poses while in a glass box. And the last two years in the Museum of Lorraine began to happen strange events. Annabelle is the hostess in the mirrors and inspires her eerie thoughts. Lorraine assures us that in his head he constantly sounds: "Death," "Kill." Chet Warren 40 years did everything to Annabel remained a simple exhibit of the museum, but now the strength is not enough, and the doll again poses a mortal threat. Lorraine said that the museum would be closed to visitors until she was convinced that the demonic doll was neutralized.

Galina Orlova

One of the most creepy characters in James Wang's film The Conjuring, released in Russia on July 25, 2013 and based on real events, is the Annabelle doll, which became a real gem in the collection of the Ed Museum and Lorraine Warren. The director transformed Annabelle for the film, giving her a much more creepy look, but in real life she was not an ordinary copy of Anne's doll.

This story began when Donna received Annabelle as a gift from her mother in 1970. An old worn doll named Ann Doll was bought in a regular store of all sorts of little things. The doll was intended as a gift for her daughter Donna on her birthday. Donna at that time was a college student and was preparing to get a higher medical education. The girl at that time lived in a tiny apartment with her roommate Angie (she also received a nurse diploma). Donna was pleased with her mother's gift and put the doll on her bed as an ornament.

At first, the girls did not notice anything unusual behind the doll. Only in time it became clear that Annabelle can move independently. At first it was almost imperceptible. The doll changed position, which could be attributed to the forgetfulness of the girls: no one specially memorized who, where and when last time left Anne, but gradually the movements of the doll became more noticeable. In a few weeks it seemed that she was already living her own life. The girls left the apartment with Annabelle sitting on the bed of Donna, and after returning home they found her on the couch. Sometimes the doll sat on a couch with arms crossed and legs, there were cases found her standing at the table or in the middle of the room. Several times, Donna put the doll on the couch, and on her return home found her on her bed in a locked room.

Their friend, Lou, hated the doll. He believed that something was wrong with her, that something evil had settled in Ann, but the girls did not want to believe in otherworldly nonsense. There had to be a logical explanation for the movements of the doll, they thought. But soon the actions of Annabelle became even stranger. It turned out that the Annabelle doll could not only move, it also had the ability to leave notes. Within a month, Donna and Angie began to find messages written in pencil on parchment paper. They said: "Help us" and "Help Lou". The font looked like the uncertain handwriting of a small child. The most horrible thing for her friends was not the contents of the notes, but the fact that they never had parchment paper in the house. Where did it come from?
Events evolved. One night Donna returned home and found Annabelle in her bed, inside she felt an inexplicable fear. Feeling of fear and anxiety increased after the examination of the doll, on her hands and chest appeared drops of fluid very similar to the blood. Whether it was real blood or just a liquid of red color, which, it seemed, oozed from the doll, the role was no longer playing. This case served as an occasion for a call to specialists.

Medium, after working with the doll, told the girls that long before the construction of their residential complex in this place there were private possessions, in one of which lived a seven-year-old girl named Annabel Higgins. Here she was found dead. Her restless spirit remained, and when the doll appeared in the house, the girl's soul moved into her. Annabelle considered Donna and Angie to be reliable guides. She just wanted to stay with them. She wanted to be safe. Being kind and responsive to requests, Donna and Angie agreed to let Annabel stay with them. And then the real hell began ...
As mentioned earlier, Lou was a friend of Donna and Angie and constantly communicated with them from the moment the doll appeared in the apartment. Lou did not like the doll from the very beginning, and often asked Donna to get rid of it, tk. I felt something terrible coming from Annabelle. Donna had a compassionate connection with the doll, and Lou had to put up with the presence of the doll. But Donna's decision was a terrible mistake.

Since that day, he began to have nightmares. But they were inexplicable. Once Lou woke up from one of them (nightmares). But the awakening was unusual for him, he felt that he was awake, but could not move. After inspecting the room, Lou saw Annabelle approaching him. She slowly slid over his feet, climbed on his chest and began to choke him. Lu, suffocating, fainted. The guy woke up in horror, the blood was pounding in his temples, he could not control himself. The guy was in the firm belief that the incident with him was not a dream. He was determined to get rid of the doll and find the spirit in it. But with Lu there was another horrifying experience with Annabel.

A few days later, Lou and Angie were together in the apartment, looked through maps and marked the routes before the upcoming trip, when they heard that someone was walking in Donna's room. They froze ... Was he a thief? How did the intruder find himself in the apartment? Lou decided to check Donna's room. Lou crept up to the door, listening to the rustle. He jerked the door open, letting in the room a sufficient amount of light, and saw no one, everything was as before, except Annabelle ... she seemed to be thrown in the middle of the room.

Lou began to search the room for signs of burglary, but nothing strange attracted his attention, and he was not left feeling the presence of someone behind him. Turning sharply, Lu felt a pain in his chest and saw dazzling flashes. Hands were bloodshot, and the shirt on his chest was a rasp. There was a feeling that he was scratched by burning claws. There were 7 marks, three vertically and four horizontally. None of the guys have seen such wounds before. The most surprising thing in this incident is that the wounds began to heal almost instantaneously and completely disappeared in a couple of days.
After what happened with Lou, Donna began to believe that instead of a little girl in the doll, the spirit of the demon was trapped. She contacted the episcopal priest Father Hegen. The Holy Father saw how much this hard case turned to the Warren.

Ed and Lorraine Warren immediately became interested in the incident and contacted Donna about the doll. According to them, the spirits of the dead can not be moved into houses, dolls or other inanimate objects. On such things only the human spirit is capable, simply demon. He controlled the doll and only created the appearance of the pre-existing girl.

According to Warren, the spirit was hunting for the emotionally weak sides of the girls. He fed on their energy, while constantly feigning his safety in the form of a small, unhappy girl. Since the demon is an evil spirit, events in the form of a drop of blood on Annabelle and the attack on Lou did not take long. Warren explained that another 2-3 weeks of finding a demon in their apartment could lead to tragic consequences.

By the end of the investigation, the Warren received the official permission of the church to exile the demon. The priest performed the rite of exorcism in the apartment, and the Warren, with the consent of Donna, took the doll with them. They put it in her bag and started a long journey home. Ed decided to stay away from major highways, fearing that the demon might try to take over the car, and at a speed of 65 miles per hour - this would have disastrous consequences. And indeed, when they rode along country roads, the engine lost its speed, the power steering did not work and even the brakes went out several times. Ed opened the bag, sprinkled the doll with holy water and the demon calmed down a little.
Upon arrival, Ed left the doll next to his desk, and he immediately began to levitate. This happened a couple more times, and then the demon seemed to calm down completely. But after a couple of weeks Annabelle returned to her old tricks, she began to appear in different rooms in the house of the Warren. Feeling that the doll is building up again, the Warren asked the Catholic priest to drive out the demon-Annabel. The priest did not take the ceremony seriously, saying that this is just a doll and she can not do anything wrong, but the rite is still held. Do not believe in the demon was a big mistake ... on the way home the priest's brakes did not work, and his car got into a terrible accident, but, happily, he survived.

In the end, the Warren built a special protective case for Annabelle, where it is located to this day. The doll can not move, but it seems that something ominous in it still continues to live, waiting for better times and getting ready for the day when again it can become free.

Connected with the demon doll Annabelle on which in 2014 was filmed the film directed by John Leonetti (Annabelle). The scenario of the picture is based on real events that occurred in the early 1970s.

The film is naturally embellished in order to capture the public, but we can safely say that the real story of life is no less terrible. The rag doll, which fell like a decoration in the house of two young girls, turned their life into a real horror. Interestingly, the people who dealt with this paranormal case were all the same demonologists Ed Warren and Lorraine who were investigating in the cases and stories told in the movie "The Curse" about. And of course many others, for example,.

This family of Gordons. About the plot of the movie I think it's worth telling especially, who wants, can see, the blessing on the Internet it can be downloaded in free access.

The film begins with Annabel from the scene of two nurses renting a house and telling about their misfortune. This scene has a direct relationship to the story that happened in 1970. A discreet decorative toy became a horror for the girls. The doll itself changed position, blood was found on it, and next there were notes of strange content. The girls turned to demonologists for help - Edu (1926-2006) and Lorain Warren (born 1927)

Ed and Lorraine Warren

Like ... an ordinary doll ... Annabel ...

In 1970, Donna's mother presented a rag doll in honor of her birthday. Donna was a student who graduated from nursing courses and worked in the specialty. Together with Donna lived in a rented apartment, her friend Angie, also a nurse. Gifted for decoration of the house a doll of meter height, bought by the mother in a hand made shop. She looked quite positive and had nothing to do with demonics: huge eyes, smiling mouth, red hair, nose red triangle of cloth. The doll's place of residence was Donna's bed, but after a few days she began to notice that something strange was happening.

Here's how Donna recalls those events: "Every morning I planted it on the cot bed: my hands are at the seams, my legs are stretched out. When they came home in the evening, they found that her limbs were in a different position. Well, for example, the legs are crossed, the hands are folded on the knees. After seven days we began to notice something was amiss. I decided to conduct an experiment and deliberately left the doll with crossed arms and legs to see what would happen when we return. In the evening we found a doll with hands apart. Each time the doll changed its positions. "

As it does not seem strange, but such strangeness in the girls did not cause concern. Then, still without a name, the doll began to "travel" around the apartment. Angie recalls: "one night we found a doll in an armchair by the door kneeling. We tried to put her in this way, but she fell all the time. The next time she was sitting on the couch, although I remembered well, she was in Donna's room, and the door was closed. "

The next supernatural activity was manifested in the form of strange notes in pencil-filled pencil, such as: "Call me." The handwriting was such as a bud - it was written by a child. At the same time, there were no papers or pencil in the house of the girls. Girlfriends decided that when they are not at home in their house, someone gets through.

The entrance of the resourceful girls went to the tricks. Doors and windows they sealed, as in films about spies, small things and rugs were laid out so that an uninvited visitor would necessarily have pushed them. But the experiment failed ... The force that moved the doll through the apartment was clearly inside the room ...

Invitation of the spirit

The last paranormal phenomena knocked the girls down, and Donna and Angie began to seek help on the side, because what happened next did not fit into the framework of the rational. Before their eyes, in the confused girls, the heavy statuette flew into the air and crashed to the floor, and then the blood was found on the doll ... One of the girlfriends says: "When we returned, we found blood on the doll's hand and a couple of drops on the body. We were very frightened. "

A month and a half after the appearance of the doll, they invited a medium to their home and learned something interesting from it.

It turned out, before the appearance of buildings, there were meadows and on these meadows played a girl named Annabel Higgins for seven years. It is the spirit of this dead girl that is that restless creature that disturbs the girls in their apartment. The girl's spirit did not know how to attract attention and appeared in them with the hope that they would notice it. Therefore, the spirit moved the doll. Annabelle wanted to stay with the girls and "settle" in the doll. And the girls allowed her.

Since that time the doll has received the name Annabel. Allowing the spirit to settle in a spiritualistic session in a doll girl did not assume the seriousness of her actions. And actions of a physical nature followed. An unknown force attacked a friend of the girls Lou.

An article in the newspaper telling about Annabelle's paranormal doll

The guy from the very beginning did not dislike the doll, feeling that something was wrong with her, she aroused his disgust and fear, he advised her friends to get rid of her. And one night, when he slept with the girls, in a dream, he saw a nightmare and Annabelle, the script of this nightmare later came true in reality.

One day Lu, along with Angie on the map, plotted the future route of his tourist adventure. Suddenly, there was a noise in Donna's room. Lou went to the door, the noise stopped when the light was lighted, Annabelle was lying on the floor. Angie describes the following events as follows:

"Suddenly, Lou yelled and clutched at his chest. I ran to him, his shirt was bleeding. He was frightened so that he was shaking, we hurried into the living room, where I looked at his wounds, on the chest under his shirt were scratches from the claws! There were seven of them: three transverse and four longitudinal. "

The last chance at salvation

The girls turned to the familiar priestess Hegan, who, after listening to them, advised them to turn to his father Kuk. He shifted to meet with specialists on complex paranormal cases - Edu and Lorain Warren.

After the investigation Ed issued his sentence: "The doll is not obsessed. They are not capable of mastering objects, only people can do it. The spirit specially moved the doll, that would create the impression that the doll is alive. Knowing that he was mistaken for the spirit of a small Annabelle, he adjusted to this image. In other words, the evil spirit simply used you, because you opened it to him, and they gave their consent and all their obvious essence, he showed attack on Lu. "

The real demon doll Annabelle looked different than in the movie

In the apartment of Donna and Angie, in the presence of demonologists, Father Cook conducted a rite of exorcism. Blessed the audience and the room. This did not happen. The Warren's doll was taken with them. Later, the exorcist confirmed that there was no spirit of Annabel. Just the girls did not go into details at a special session called a dangerous, malicious entity from the other world.

"Everything that happened here was a matter of some kind of mind," says Father Cook. And spirits are not able to create phenomena of this power, they are weak for this. I think it was something demonic. "

Where this happened is unknown, the Warren never told where it happened, but it was one of the first high-profile cases, later was the case of the "troubled home" of the Perron in Harrisville, the story of which was told in "The Enchantment." But, Warrenam's greatest popularity and popularity was brought to the investigation of the case in Amityville in the second half of the 1970s.

Of course, believe in this or not believe the cause of everyone, because here you can only take it for granted. They say that the doll still has a danger in itself, that's why it is stored in a specially locked cupboard with a sign "not open" ... in the museum of demonologists, where things are stored related to their investigations.

Quotations given in the article are slightly modified, but taken from the book:BrittleG.TheDemonologist.The Extraordinary Carreer of Ed and Lorraine Warren. iUniverse, 2002.

We'll start with the most mystical and terrible doll. This story began in the seventies of the last century, when a girl studying for a nurse named Donna received a second-hand rag doll as a gift from her mother. Donna took the doll with her to her apartment, which she shared with friend Angie. But soon strange events began to happen. It seemed that the doll was moving around the apartment by itself. The girls left it in one place, but found in another and in another pose. They also found written messages on paper. On the scraps of parchment there was: "Help us," but there was no such paper in the house! When these messages began to appear, Donna and Angie suspected that someone had sneaked into their apartment and wrote all this to frighten the girls. They examined all the windows and doors, but there was nothing that indicated that they were opened without the owners knowing.
One day, Donna discovered a fluid that looked like blood, on her hands and a doll's dress. In the end, the girls turned to the medium. During the session, contact was established with a certain spirit, which was called Annabel Higgins. He said that during his lifetime he died at the age of seven on the spot where the house of Donna and Angie stands. The Spirit admitted that he would like to stay with the girls, they liked him so much that he settled into a doll for this. Despite the incident with the blood, Donna and Angie did not see any danger in this and allowed the spirit to stay with them: they very much pitied poor Annabelle.
Annabel nevertheless never liked Donna's friend Liu. The doll began to appear to him in nightmares. And one night he woke up because someone was strangling him. It was an inexplicably realistic dream, and after that, Liu wondered for a long time whether everything could actually be.
The next day, Liu was visiting Donna and Angie. Suddenly a strange sound came from Donna's room. All three were frightened, thinking that they were robbers. When Liu burst into the room, he found no one there but Annabelle, lying on the floor. Liu felt an unpleasant feeling of someone's presence, and that this someone was standing behind him. He turned around, and at the same instant his chest was pierced with a sharp pain. He saw the blood on his sweater. With closer study, it was possible to discern traces of claws left on the skin. The traces of these claws disappeared very quickly, but Liu, Donna and Angie were mortally frightened.
They contacted the priest, and he, in turn, aware of the complexity of this case, told the spouses Edu and Lorraine Warren, specialists in paranormal phenomena. Both were well-known exorcists, able to cope with the most serious cases, founded the Society for Psychical Research in New England in the fifties and wrote books about the otherworld. After listening to the whole story, Ed and Lorraine realized that the rite of exorcism should be held immediately, which was done the same evening by the priest.
Warren said that in fact the doll was captured by a demon, whose goal was Donna. He intended to get to her, using the girl's kind and compassionate heart. Demon was not interested in the doll at all, he was striving to get a really valuable booty - a human soul! Ed and Lorraine said that allowing girls to stay in the doll was the trigger, which accelerated the development of events and exposed friends of great danger.
After cleaning the house, the couple were taken away from the doll, and Donna, Angie and Liu were overjoyed - they could not see her anymore. The presence of Annabelle in the car was dangerous: the brakes, engine and hydraulic booster refused to obey. The miracle, caution and sprinkling of the doll with holy water saved people from death. The rite of exile was held once more in the Warren's home, after some time, as Annabelle again began to show all the signs of obsession.
Ultimately, a special transparent display case was built for the doll, where it is kept to this day, waiting for the opportunity to break free.
