The material for weaving and making nauzes was very different:

• Thread (preferably woven with one's own hands one day);
• Hair (your own or a loved one);
• Ribbons (colors, which were chosen depending on the purpose of the nauz);
• dried plants;
• Hair or hemp, linen ropes.

The main thing is the purpose for which the nauz was made. In fact, nauz is a kind of pendant made:

• In the form of a small bag, in which a certain filler was inserted - a talisman;
• Weaving, tying a protective sign, object;
• A single, special knot on a cord, a chain that was hung on the arm, neck, braid, sewn on the hem or sleeves of a skirt, shirt.

So, the most famous ancient Slavic amulet for a man who went on a campaign was a pinch of the earth on which he was born and raised. She was placed in a nauz - a leather or linen bag that was hung around her neck.

While the man was defending his home, his wife and children also protected themselves from various troubles with nauzes. Red woolen threads or braid tied in a knot on the left hand were especially valued. Such a nauz resisted the evil eye, burned the evil of the ill-wisher, protected from witchcraft.
