Purity - useful properties and contra-indications of a unique plant. When to collect the celandine.

Used parts of the plant

In medicine, the ground part of the plant is mainly used, the roots are used less often and are part of some preparations.

Terms and features of collection

Prepare the celandine during the flowering period, preferably at its beginning. Hence, this is the period from May to July-August (although in some places by August the celandine already fades).

Collect the grass should be in dry weather. In this case, preference should be given to those plants that grow not in the sun, but in shaded places: there the cleaner gets the most curative powers.

In addition, there is an opinion that it is best to collect celandine with the growing Moon: during this period, any plant gains maximum strength. The best time is early morning, when nature wakes up.

If you cut a celandine, make an incision at a distance of 5-10 cm above the ground.

To protect yourself, do not forget to put gloves on your hands, and cover your face with a damp gauze bandage. The fact is that pollen celandine causes a very strong irritation of the nasal mucosa.

When delivering celandine to the drying site, do not condense it at all. It is better to go several times than to work for nothing.

Drying

Once the grass is collected, it should be immediately put in the dryer. For these purposes, you can use any well-ventilated room, which does not receive direct rays of light, for example, an attic. The grass is laid out on the floor with a thin layer. In the drying process, the raw material must be periodically shifted and stirred. If you do not do this often enough, it will start to burn and rot. Ventilation, as well as frequent stirring, is necessary in order for the cleaner to dry as quickly as possible. This is important, because in the long-term drying in the grass, there is little therapeutic juice, it just disappears.

Better yet, if you tie the celandine with bunches (several stems in each, but not more than 10) and hang it. In this case, air will affect the plant from all sides, and drying will be more effective, and more rapid too.

The dried grass has no smell, the taste is sharp and bitter. The roots after drying become dark-brown, almost black, on the fracture are yellowish or pinkish-brown.

Storage of celandine

Its medicinal properties are properly harvested celandine retains for 3 years. Keep it better in a dry room, hanging and wrapping paper or gauze (you just need to leave the top open).

Preparation of medicinal preparations

Purity is used in a variety of forms: in the form of broths, tinctures and infusions, ointments, oils. Separately, the celandine juice is also harvested.

Broth

Broth   is prepared as follows: the raw material is placed in enameled dishes, poured into cold water, brought to a boil on low heat and held on fire for a time. The duration of this, as well as the proportion of water and raw materials depend on the particular case.

The broth should be filtered, well wrung grass.

Decoction of herbs celandine has a bactericidal, soothing, choleretic, diuretic, antispasmodic, anesthetic effect. It can be used for ulcer and cholelithiasis, spasms of the duodenal pylorus, digestive tract and gallbladder, with renal colitis, with diseases of the bladder.

Juice

Juice - one of the most effective means, obtained from celandine, because in it the whole power of the miraculous plant is concentrated. In the flowering period of celandine collect leaves and stems (you can also roots) and pass them through the meat grinder. Place in a glass container and put it on the refrigerator for a few days (this is necessary for the celandine to let the juice run). It usually takes three days. Then press the grass through the cheesecloth. A bucket of grass produces 1-1.5 liters of juice.

After a while after the preparation of the juice, he begins to wander, so do not forget to let the air out of the container. After 2-3 weeks fermentation will end.

Prepared in this way, juice can be stored for several years in the refrigerator.

Butter oil

Butter oil   - a drug that is used mainly for external use.

Take dry grass, grind it, place it in a glassware and fill it with oil (so that the oil level is 2-3 cm higher than the level of grass). It is desirable to use a peach or apricot oil, however, an ordinary vegetable oil is also suitable. That's just the vegetable oil before use, you need to warm it for 1-2 hours in a water bath.

Place the butter with the grass for 30-60 minutes in a warm place, and then transfer it to a cool dark place and hold it for a week. Do not forget to periodically shake the drug. After 7 days, when it is ready, strain it through gauze, add a clean oil (1: 1 ratio) and store it in a dark glass container.

Infusion of celandine

Preparation of the present chistel. Purity is used in the form of infusion because of its bactericidal action and the ability to retard the growth of certain fungi and even malignant tumors. This is due primarily to the fact that the purity contains a large number of alkaloids.

The infusion can be aqueous and alcoholic.

Water custard celandine is best prepared as follows: take the prescribed amount of grass, pour boiling water and heat on a steam bath for 15 minutes. Then cool well, drain. Before filtering, it would be nice to let the agent brew. From a steam bath it is quite possible to refuse, enough simple boiling water. But in this case it is desirable to increase the infusion time. It's good to insist the celandine in the thermos.

Infusion of celandine can be prepared on vodka. To do this, take the grass (fresh or dried), fill it with half a half liter bottle or jar and pour it with vodka. They let it brew for two weeks. After this, the obtained tincture should be diluted at the rate of 150 ml of tincture for 350 ml of pure vodka. Take three times daily before meals. Remember that the tincture is very strong, so if you need to take it inside, start with the smallest dose (5-10 drops), gradually increasing it every week by 10 drops.

The difference between water and alcohol is that the water is much weaker. The main reason is that water dissolves only the salts of alkaloids, which are abundantly contained in the purity, and alcohol - the alkaloids themselves. Consequently, alcohol solution will be much stronger and more effective.

However, water infusion has one - and extremely important - advantage: it is less dangerous than alcoholic infusion. So in the overwhelming majority of cases, in order to avoid poisoning, one should definitely recommend the use of water infusion. And the use of an alcoholic infusion of celandine is justified only in cases where the possible harm is less than the benefit that it can bring. Even with cancer, when a person is ready to use any means and, because of the criticality of the situation, it would seem that God himself ordered the use of alcoholic infusion, it would be superfluous to think about the general exhaustion of the organism for which any "blow" is dangerous.

Ointment with celandine

Ointment with celandine is prepared on vaseline, lanolin, pork or mutton fat. You can use the usual baby cream as a basis. To obtain the ointment, it is better to use either celandine juice or dried grass, which is pre-crushed very well (preferably a coffee grinder). The proportions in which the components are mixed depend on the specific case, the particular disease. However, the usual ratios are 1 part of the crushed grass and 2 parts of the base mass. Fresh juice mixed with the base in a proportion of 1: 4.

To prevent ointment from becoming moldy, carbolic acid (0.25%) is added.

Good afternoon, dear readers!

In addition to flowers on my site in large quantities growing grass celandine medicinal properties and contraindications of which we will consider today.Right now I'm doing it for the winter and I want to tell you why I'm doing this.

And although the celandine is more known as a means for removing warts, it is even sometimes called a warthog, but juice and infusion of celandine are successfully used in folk medicine for the treatment of all kinds of diseases. I assure you that this is not scary and quite safe. There are a lot of reviews about such treatment, I'll tell you about them, as well as recipes for women.

Celandine. Healing properties

For its healing properties, the celandine was formerly called our Soviet ginseng. A literal translation from Greek is a gift from heaven.

This amazing grass has an interesting feature: it immediately finds the source of the disease, its root and begins the process of treatment.

Purity is common in a large area. He is unpretentious and frost-resistant. You can meet him in the forests, in the fields, along the slopes of the mountains, and in the shady places near the dwellings, in the kitchen gardens.

On my site the celandine grows along the fence. Once planted a bush, and now it is very good, even too much grown. Usually, many people struggle with it as a weed. But I first give the celandine bloom, then prepare it for the winter and then I'm already stabbing it. In spring, when not all the flowers have blossomed, the celandine with its bright yellow flowers even pleases the eye.

Purity is a perennial plant with a hollow stem and pinnate leaves.

Blooms from May to autumn.

The roots, stems and leaves of the plant contain a large amount of valuable yellow-orange juice, which has medicinal properties.

In the aerial part contains organic acids, essential oil, histamine, methylalanine, vitamin C, carotene, tannins.

Purity is a family of poppy, it contains more than 10 alkaloids - toxic substances, so this plant is poisonous. But it is largely inferior in its virulence to others, such as aconite or hemlock (which, by the way, I also used, and now I drink aconite tincture).

Preparations from celandine have a different kind of action:

  • primarily a powerful choleretic
  • anti-inflammatory
  • antipruritic
  • antimicrobial
  • wound healing
  • analgetic
  • antihistaminic
  • diuretic
  • mild laxative
  • anticonvulsant
  • cauterizing
  • antitumour
  • restorative.

The use of celandine in traditional medicine

Purity for medicinal purposes is widely used in folk medicine in the form of juice, infusions and tinctures, ointments.

Consider the most popular recipes.

Juice of celandine

The best known is the use of the medicinal properties of celandine juice for the skin and against polyps, but in other cases it is effective.

In summer you can use juice from freshly grown plants. To do this, it is enough to cut off the stem, from which immediately appear yellow drops.

And for winter it is not difficult to procure juice.

How to make juice from celandine

The plant is torn from the root, the roots are cleaned of the ground, washed, dried. Then all the parts: roots, stem, leaves, flowers and pods pass through the meat grinder. From the received weight squeeze juice through a gauze.

For long-term storage of juice, it is poured into a vial and sealed. In a few days the juice will start to wander and then you need to open the lid to release the gas. So repeat several times until fermentation is over.

Juice celandine can be stored in a cool place for 3 years.

Recipes

  1. Removal of papillomas, warts, calluses, acne, freckles, fungus, eczema

The affected area of the skin is plentifully spread with juice 2-3 times a day. To wash it it is not necessary.

The juice penetrates inside and there begins the restoration of tissues. Warts disappeared without a trace in 70-80 percent of cases, this is noted by dermatologists. No wonder now, even in pharmacies, you can find celandine preparations from warts.

In addition, the juice cauterizes the formations on the skin, it also destroys the cause of their origin due to its antiviral effect.

How to get rid of papillomas with other folk remedies, read.

Positive feedback you can read already in the comments to this article.

2. Burns and frostbite

Burnt or frostbitten place is smeared with juice, when in 3-5 minutes the juice is absorbed, the procedure is repeated. And so 3-4 times.

Thus, you can treat and burn from the sun, the pain stops, and tanning will continue. But it is better to still sunbathe in moderation and not at midday hot time.

3. Adenoids, polyps, tonsils

2-3 times a day, 1-2 drops of juice are buried in the nose, inserting the pipette deeper into the nostril. After the slight tingling ceases, after 3-5 minutes another 1-2 drops of juice are added, after 2-3 minutes repeat again.

How to prepare a celandine for the winter

As I already wrote at the beginning, now the season of harvesting celandine for the winter has begun. I've already dried this useful herb, I also want to make juice. Let it be just in case.

How to properly dry the celandine, in different sources of information, I found different recommendations. But, nevertheless I hold the opinion that it is better to use only the aboveground part of the plant. Grass celandine I break off at an altitude of 10-15 cm from the ground and lay a thin layer on the street under a canopy. The dried grass is stored in a linen bag.

Celandine. Contraindications

Other special contraindications for the use of celandine, I have not found, only once again I want to say about the need for strict compliance with the dosage.

Purity against pests

In addition to medicinal properties, celandine has another useful property: it is successfully used to combat pests in cottages and gardens.

I had to process bushes of roses from caterpillars. Quite successfully.

To prepare the infusion from pests, you need to cut four celandine bunches, put them in a bucket (10-12 liters) and fill with water. Insist for 15-30 minutes. The infusion will turn brown and it can be sprayed or watered.

So, we learned about the wonderful grass of celandine, medicinal properties and contraindications to use. Do not be afraid to take it, observing the measure, you can really help your body. Use it until the season of its flowering has begun.

Purity refers to medicinal herbs, the products of which can cure a large number of different diseases. In this case, the leaves and stems of this plant, and even roots, go into play.

In order not to be wasted on preparations from celandine in pharmacies, you can independently prepare medicinal raw materials, collecting it in time. When to collect celandine for treatment? And how to properly prepare a medicinal plant for the winter?

The timing of the collection of celandine is from May to August, at which time the healing herb blossoms.

During flowering, the green mass of celandine, like most herbs, is especially saturated with juices and nutrients, the presence of which is precisely necessary when collecting it for medicinal purposes.

Purity - the grass is widespread and grows everywhere, you can learn it by medium-sized yellow flowers.

This medicinal plant prefers to grow in shady places, often hiding under bushes or deciduous trees that protect it from the scorching sun and wind gusts.

Of course, it is necessary to collect celandine for further preparation of traditional medicine only in places far from cities, industrial enterprises, highways, etc.

The material collected in contaminated areas is only able to damage the body with further use of products from it, since it contains heavy metals and other unhealthy impurities.

But it is important not just to find the habitat of celandine, but also to choose the right time for collection. The fact that experienced in this matter people medicinal herbs are collected, given several factors:

  • collection is best done in the morning;
  • it is recommended to collect grass in the phase of the growing Moon;
  • the weather should be dry, without rain.

These conditions also concern the collection of celandine. In addition, before going to the raw materials, it is worth thinking about the container in which it will be transported to the site of the workpiece (usually using buckets or bags). And also about the means of protecting the hands (gloves) and the nose of the face (gauze mask), since the pollen of the flowers of the celandine acts as an irritant to the nasal mucosa.

Depending on what parts of the plant will be harvested, the celandine is collected in different ways.

For example, if it is supposed to harvest only the green mass of the crop (stems and leaves), then it is cut at a height of 5 ... 7 cm from the ground level.

When harvesting the roots of celandine, they gently shake the earth, and in the green part of the plant, you can carefully remove the contaminated and damaged leaves.

The collected raw materials for transportation are packed in bags or buckets and at the same time they are not tampered with. And after collecting the celandine immediately begin to harvest it for further use. How to prepare a celandine for a medicine?

How to Dry Purity at Home

In order to prepare the green mass of celandine, three drying methods are used immediately after harvesting:

  • in bundles, which is considered preferable. The fact is that when binding stems to bundles of several pieces and their suspension, the best ventilation of the raw material is provided. In this regard, the grass is dried faster and does not rot;
  • a mound on the working surface, which is suitable for a floor or a table. The collected celandine is laid out evenly and periodically tilled to prevent decay;
  • in a special dryer at a temperature of not more than 600 ° C.

If celandine drying takes place indoors, then it should be well ventilated and dark enough so that the sun's rays during the preparation of celandine do not destroy chlorophyll in its stems and leaves.

If the drying takes place on the street, then a canopy is required for the same reasons.

Correctly dried greens celandine during bending breaks, and does not bend, has no smell and has a bitter taste.

Store the dried grass in dry rooms in paper bags in a suspended state. But such an opportunity is not always, so you can put it in boxes, not compacting cleanliness at the same time.

When observing the rules for storing grass, the dried grass is stored for up to three years.

How to prepare the roots of celandine

The roots of celandine are not used for medicinal purposes so often, but if it is meant to dry the plant with them, they are pre-cleaned from the ground during harvesting, and then washed further with running water.

After washing, the plants are laid out for pre-drying. Once all the water evaporates from the plants, you can proceed to the main drying in bundles. Several plants are also connected for this.

Correctly dried roots of celandine have brownish-brown, almost black color, and on the scrap they can be light brown or yellowish.

To store the roots of celandine wrapped in thick paper and suspended. So plants can be stored for up to 5 years without loss of useful properties.

How to procure celandine juice

Juice celandine is very widely used in the methods of treatment of traditional medicine, so it makes sense after collecting the material is not all of its quantity sent to drying, and leave a part for the preparation of juice.

In order to allocate it, immediately after harvesting the raw material is passed through a meat grinder, and then placed in a glass jar and cleaned in a refrigerator for 3 ... 4 days. During this time the crushed celandine will give juice.

When this happens, remove the jar, collect the remainder and squeeze it through the cheesecloth, after which the juice is closed with a lid and put back into the refrigerator.

After a while, the fermentation process will begin, and the phenomenon is absolutely normal. Just need to periodically release air from the can.

After a couple of weeks fermentation will end, and the juice will be completely ready for use for medicinal purposes.

Many people self-cure the celiac juice, as it helps get rid of many diseases, and the price in the pharmacy of a vial of this remedy can hit your pocket.

In every city, the celandine is found under residential buildings and in kitchen gardens. No matter how much one would like to see only positive aspects in this plant, people, often, are forced to fear it.

Pharmacists of different countries make preparations from celandine for the treatment of many diseases. However, everywhere it is used under the strict supervision of a doctor, as it is very toxic.

In many countries, where this plant grows, there are traditional views on the treatment with celandine. So, in Bulgaria, the juice of celandine is used as an analgesic and antispasmodic agent for diseases of the liver and gallbladder, gallstones (sand), jaundice, gastritis and colitis. In Poland, celandine is known as an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anthelmintic. Doctors prescribe drugs from celandine and plant juice for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, hepatic colic, hemorrhoids, as well as in painful menstruation. But Austrian scientists argue that extract from celandine enhances the function of the gallbladder and bile ducts, and also has strong anticonvulsant and soothing properties. In France, celandine is used as an effective diuretic and laxative, and the juice of young plants is used as a stimulant.

In domestic medicine ointment from the powder of celandine grass is actively used for the treatment of tuberculosis of the skin, lupus and even skin cancer, and tincture from its roots is used for cholelithiasis, dysbiosis and constipation. With intravenous administration, the celandine drug lowers blood pressure and slows the pulse, and when applied externally, heals scars and ulcers on the skin, heals eczema and psoriasis. In one of the Russian clinics, clinical studies were conducted on the treatment with juice of celandine polyps of the intestine and bladder, and excellent results were obtained, many patients got rid of the need for surgical intervention. In our country, celandine is called Russian ginseng for the fact that it relieved and continues to treat people from any disease.

Orange juice, which is saturated with all parts of the plant, makes it a most valuable natural medicine, therefore in folk medicine, the root, stems and leaves of the celandine are used. Of these, make decoctions, infusions and tinctures, which, like the juice of celandine, can be harvested for future use or cooked from a dried plant. Juice plants soothe irritated skin and nerves, treat burns and wounds, infusions are used to treat internal organs - liver, stomach, intestines, kidneys, genital organs, vessels and joints. Purity helps to cope with hypertension, regulate the work of the heart, defeat bronchitis and relieve a bout of bronchial asthma, with its help you can even get rid of atherosclerosis, dyspnea, raise immunity and restore strength. The presence of biologically active substances of a wide range of action makes this plant indispensable for the prevention of many diseases, especially effective therapeutic and wellness baths with extract of celandine, which have a high quenching effect and stimulate metabolism. Indeed, it is difficult to find an ailment with which the celandine can not cope, because its main property is to restore the health of the whole organism as a whole, affecting the cause, and not the consequence and manifestation of the disease. You will see this many times after reading this book.

In ancient times, celandine was used for domestic purposes: the juice of plants was etched and inked metal, and also dyed woolen fabrics in bright colors of red and yellow tones. Such a paint for wool is easy to get from fresh or dried celandine grass. To do this, you need to make a strong herb infusion and withstand the tissue in it for 3 to 12 hours. Depending on the saturation of the solution and the holding time, a certain coat color will appear: 3 hours - yellow, 5 hours - orange, 10-12 hours - red.

And now we pass to the most important thing, because in order to stock up this natural medicine, you need to know it "in person". Finding a celandine among a variety of herbs is not difficult, because it has many distinctive features. What are they?

Purity belongs to the family of poppies. This perennial plant is up to 1 m high. Its stem is straight and branched, dark red, hollow inside. It has a ribbed surface covered with short hairs. If the stem is broken or cut, then the juice of bright yellow color will start to be allocated from it - this is the most important distinguishing feature of the celand due to which it can not be confused with other field or forest flowers. The leaves of the celandine are also very characteristic: the top is light green, and the bottom is gray, petiolate, deep-seperated, with round or ovoid lobes. The lower leaves are located on long petioles, the upper leaves sit directly on the stem. The plant blooms with golden-yellow inflorescences, consisting of several flowers: from four to eight pieces. Inflorescences form a simple umbrella, they rest on long pedicels. Blossom celandine from May to July, and if the flowers are cut, then the second wave of flowering will begin, which lasts until the end of August. When the flowers wither, a fruit appears - a pod-shaped single-cavity box. The fruits appear in July, August and even September.

The celandine has a very pungent odor and an equally unpleasant bitter taste. Purity is common throughout the European part of Russia, in the north of the country, in Eastern Siberia and the Caucasus. This plant is shade-tolerant and very undemanding to soil and weather conditions. Favorite places for growing celandine are vegetable gardens and country plots where he likes to settle near walls and fences. But the celandine can be found everywhere - in forests, in ravines, in marshes, on plains and even in mountains. Wild and domestic animals avoid using this plant for food, because it is tasteless and in large quantities poisonous. But for man, the celandine is a real treasure, because it contains natural medicines from virtually all diseases.

What is the strength of celandine

A wide range of therapeutic effects of the plant due to the presence in its composition of alkaloids - chemicals that have different effects on the body. They are in the purity of about 20. Most biologically active substances in the root - from 2% to 4%, in grass less - from 1% to 2%. In a young plant, there are fewer alkaloids than in the old one, so young leaves and roots, as well as the juice extracted from them, have a milder effect on the body.

The strongest of the alkaloids are chelidonin, homochelidonin, methoxyhelidonin, chelerythrin, oxyzelidonine, sanguinarin, oxysangvinarin, protopin, allriciptonin, scaretin, berberine, sparteine, copticin, chelidineamine, defilline, chelirubin, chelilutin, helilotin.

Helidonin acts similarly to papaverine, which reduces blood pressure, as well as morphine, which slows the pulse and depresses the activity of the central nervous system, but in large doses or with excessive use of preparations from celandine, this alkaloid can cause paralysis of the nervous system.

The strongest anesthetic is homochelidonin, due to which drugs based on celandine have an anesthetic effect. But an overdose is dangerous, because this alkaloid is a strong convulsive poison.

Grass celandine is used in horticulture as a phytoncidal agent against aphids, badgers, scabbards and other pests of orchards and gardens. To do this, fresh or dry grass celandine is prepared with infusion: 1 kg of chopped herbs pour 12 liters of water and insist for two days.

Like the strychnine, the alkaloid sanguinarine acts. It increases intestinal peristalsis and saliva secretion, stimulating digestion processes, while also providing a short-term analgesic effect. However, this alkaloid in large doses is dangerous - it provokes convulsions.

The irritant property is possessed by helerithrin, and protopin reduces the excitability of the autonomic nervous system, tones the smooth muscles of the internal organs. Due to this quality, the celandine gives a good therapeutic effect in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, which are accompanied by a spasm of muscles.

In addition to alkaloids, celandine contains many other useful substances that have a healing and therapeutic effect on a person. It is a well-known to all carotene - a source of vitamin A and no less known ascorbic acid - vitamin C.

In addition to these substances, flavonoids, saponins, bitterness, resinous substances, organic acids - apple, citric, and amber, are included in the composition of the celandine, which makes the plant extremely useful in disorders of metabolism and joint diseases.

Russian peasants decoction of celandine used in the household - they scalded clay lids, which then poured milk. Milk for a long time and was not sour.

How to collect and harvest celandine

For medicinal and health purposes, the celandine can and should be used all year round. Even to practically healthy people this plant can be useful for treating scratches and abrasions, relieving nervous tension and increasing immunity in the off-season. To search for the necessary drug, do not run to the pharmacy, if the herb collection, juice or celandine infusion will be prepared for future use. To home medicine was the most effective, it must be properly collected and dried.

For future use, you can prepare the herb celandine, from which in winter you will prepare infusions and decoctions. From the root of the plant in summer, juice is squeezed out, which is preserved and stored in the refrigerator.

So, for harvesting celandine grass, choose dry sunny days during its flowering, ie, from May to July-August. Armed with a sickle, we find the habitats of the plant. Carefully consider whether there are among the bushes chistotela diseased and diseased plants, with lethargic, pale-colored leaves. Such a plant is not suitable for drying, it has already lost some of its useful qualities. Collect only those plants whose leaves have a rich green color without signs of fungal diseases and other lesions. Remember that in winter you have to be treated with this herb, so plants should be absolutely healthy.

Now cut the plants, but not at the root itself, but at a distance of about 10 cm from the ground. You can simply break off the stems, but make sure that the juice does not get on your skin and clothes - it will quickly color the fabric yellow, and leave small, but unpleasant burns on your hands. Even more dangerous if drops of celandine juice get into the eyes, causing burns of the mucous membrane and lacrimation. Therefore, the collection of grass is better to be engaged in gloves, and wear protective goggles on the eyes.

As soon as the celandine is cut, we immediately send it to dryness in an attic, in a barn or in any well-ventilated dry and warm room. Lay out the grass in a thin layer and do not forget to stir it up periodically so it does not rot. If the plant gets ripe, it is better to discard it, otherwise the rot will penetrate further and spoil the other plants. It is much more effective to dry the grass in a suspended state. You can do it in the open air, but always under a canopy so that the plant does not get a bright sun that destroys chlorophyll, changes the color of foliage and stem and negatively affects the composition of the plant, leading to the loss of its valuable properties. The plant is dried and in a special dryer or in an oven at a temperature of 50-60 ° C. With any method of drying, the suitability of raw materials is determined as follows: when bending, the dried stems must immediately break, and not bend.

Dried grass should be placed in linen or paper bags and stored in a suspended state in the dark or with muted light. This is the best way to preserve the celandine, thanks to which the plant is ventilated from different directions. But if this is not possible, then the usual wooden boxes, boxes and bags in which well dried raw materials are laid freely, without compaction, and stored in dry rooms without access to light. If all these conditions are met, the dried grass will not lose its qualities for three years.

Sometimes they prepare the celandine together with the root, from which the infusions and alcohol tinctures are prepared. In this case, the cysts of the celandine are excavated entirely, gently cleaning the roots from the ground. Then the roots are washed well in water and the plants are laid out to dry. As soon as the water evaporates, the bushes of plants are bound together several times and dried, suspended in attics or in other dry and well ventilated rooms. When the plants are completely dry, their roots are wrapped in thick paper or a canvas rag and hung in a dry place for storage. In this form, the celandine can be stored for about five years, without losing its valuable properties.

Procurement of celandine preparations

You can prepare not only the grass and roots of celandine, but also ready-made preparations from the plant - juice, infusions for external and internal use, ointments and herbal preparations for medical and revitalizing baths. Much more convenient when you have a ready-made tool that can be used immediately. Therefore, we offer several such recipes.

Preparation of juice from celandine

The juice of celandine is the basis for the preparation of medicines for many diseases, and in itself is an excellent medicine that is used for various diseases in one way or another. Canned juice can be used as an antiseptic instead of iodine, so it is indispensable in cases of an allergic reaction to iodine. Those who once used the juice of celandine as an antiseptic know about its excellent qualities: it perfectly disinfects the wounds and does not pinch the skin, so it is perfect for children.

Fresh juice celandine can be enjoyed all summer, and for the winter it should be prepared for future use. To do this, choose healthy young plants, dig them out of the ground with the roots, which are thoroughly cleaned and mine. Roots, stems, leaves and flowers are cut into small pieces and let through the meat grinder. Then the resulting mass of dark green color squeezed through the cheesecloth and poured the resulting liquid into bottles or cans with screwed roofs. We set the banks in a cold place, but not in the refrigerator. After 4-5 days, the juice will start to wander, so you need to open the lids and release the gas, then close the cans tightly again. In a couple of days, we are releasing gas again (do not forget to close the lids tightly). So repeat several times until fermentation stops. Ready juice should be stored in a cool place in tightly closed bottles. He will not lose his healing qualities for 2-3 years.

Ointment from warts and calluses

This ointment should be in every home, because of corns and warts are not insured by anyone. A good service will this tool and with more serious skin diseases - eczema, diathesis or psoriasis. However, the ointment is suitable not only for medicinal, but also for cosmetic purposes. With its help, you can easily get rid of freckles and eliminate the areas of pigmentation on the skin.

So, for the preparation of the ointment, you will need fresh celandine juice and petroleum jelly.

Juice celandine and Vaseline mixed in a ratio of 1: 4. Instead of juice, you can take dry grass and pound it into powder, mix with petroleum jelly (or lanolin) in the same proportion.

Ointment should not be stored in the refrigerator for more than two years.

Preventive and curative infusion of celandine

This infusion can be prepared both from fresh plants, and dried grass and roots. It is used for preventive and curative purposes: to improve immunity, restore strength, after stress to maintain the nervous system. In summer it is better to prepare an infusion of fresh celandine. It contains more valuable substances.

We tear out the celandon bush together with the root, clean it from the ground, wash it well. Then cut the whole plant in small pieces about 1 cm. Fill the half-liter jar with half the volume and fill the raw material with steep boiling water (after having rinsed the jar beforehand). Cover the can with a lid and cover with a towel. We leave it on the table until it cools down completely. If the grass is dried, then grind it and fill 1/4 of the can. Infusion is prepared the same way.

Keep the infusion obtained in the refrigerator, but no longer than three days. And take it like this:

adults - 1 tbsp. spoon infusion diluted in 1/2 cup of water and take 20 minutes before meals 2-3 times a day;

children from 7 years - 1 teaspoon infusion diluted in 1/3 cup water and take 15 minutes before meals 2-3 times a day.

If the infusion is used for the prevention and general recovery of the body, it is taken for a week, then take a break for 4-5 days and again take a week. With such interruptions, infusion can take up to four weeks, then take a break for two months.

For medical purposes, the timing of taking the infusion should be discussed with the doctor. Usually he is prescribed to drink for two weeks, then a two-week break is required, if necessary, repeat the course of treatment.

Herbal preparations with celandine for therapeutic baths

Prophylactic and wellness baths with the addition of celandine are the most harmless and at the same time effective method of improving well-being and health. As water procedures in themselves are soothing and relaxing, and with the addition of toning and anti-inflammatory herbs are useful doubly.

It is better to use a collection of herbs for baths. Possessing different properties, they will enhance and complement the therapeutic effect. It is better to prepare such collections in advance and store in a separate place. For them, the celandine is collected and dried separately, since in this case only the aerial part of the plant is used. At the same time, you need to prepare other herbs that are used in the collection for the baths - the turn, St. John's wort, sage, chamomile, valerian. As soon as the plants dry, they are ground and mixed, taking the herbs, including celandine, in equal parts. Then, 2 cups of the mixture are scattered into separate sachets. In the winter it remains only to get the sachets, to brew the mixture and to prepare fragrant and medicinal baths.

Pour 2 cups (200 g) of a dry herbal mixture of 4 liters of boiling water, cover and insist 40 minutes, then strain and add to a bath with water, the temperature of which is 37-38 ° C. The duration of the bath is no more than 20 minutes. Baths are recommended to take 1 or 2 times a week.

A warning!

Treatment of celandine and preparations from this plant is strictly according to the formula and only after agreement with the doctor, since drugs taken in high doses can cause poisoning. The main symptoms of poisoning: severe thirst, heaviness in the head and stomach, dizziness, fainting, hallucinations, convulsions. The first aid for poisoning with celandine is gastric lavage and the introduction of as much liquid as possible into the body.
