Some like sweet apples, others like fruit with sourness. But there are varieties that, thanks to their excellent taste, cause admiration for almost all consumers, regardless of their preferences. Some of these winter apples are known more to specialists, and amateur gardeners are little known. We will try you with the best, in our opinion, varieties, taking into account the results that were obtained at various exhibitions and according to our rating, which was formed on the basis of tests and tastings.

Storing apples

Autumn and winter varieties of apples are removed from trees in the stage of technical maturity, and they ripen in lezhke. In this case, the starch in the fruit turns into sugar, some water is removed, some of the acids are consumed "for breathing." This process depends on the temperature, in a warm place it happens faster. If apples emit a strong aroma, then they are already ripe and they need to be processed, not allowing overripe, which is accompanied by a decrease in acidity and the content of tannic substances.
