I want to talk about the ritual technique, which may require great effort - create a magic circle.

Magic circle   - this space, which is defined on the physical and astral planes. This protection is most often used for temporal concentration and energy conservation, which are generated during the imposition of the spell, which allows you to enhance its action while releasing all of these energies. When performing some rituals and spells, energy is concentrated, which is why I advise you to use the magic circle as an additional component. And now I will talk about the creation of the magic circle as a form of defensive magic, as it is traditionally used to contain negative energies and entities that penetrate the physical plane from the astral.

For example, if you are tormented by bad dreams sent to you by the enemy or caused by the invasion of your space of a negative entity, you can create a magic circle around your bed before you sleep and then delete it after you wake up. Such protection is the most effective measure against human exposure to any otherworldly energy during sleep.

The magic circle is your personal protective barrier between you and both worlds - the physical and the astral. If you are going to rest at the campsite, bring everything you need with you. Surrounding yourself with the magic circle, you create your own small universe, so you will need to take some symbolic objects corresponding to the elements that make up our big universe. Fortunately, in magical practice, all components of the Universe are reflected in four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. All you need to create a magic circle is to visualize the four elements or to take care of their material incarnation.

I recommend using salt as a material symbol of the Earth, incense for Air, candles for Fire, and a cup of water for Water. Of course, if you don’t want candles and incense to burn when you sleep, you can use other symbols, for example: for Air - a perfume, a feather or even a balloon, and the Fire can be replaced with an electric lamp, preferably red, that will help you create this element in your imagination.

Determine the location for the magic circle. You can create it in your imagination or draw a line with chalk, salt, flour, or use a long rope. Your circle may be small and only cover your bed in a room or huge - to protect your entire house and property if you perform a blessing ritual in an open area. Using a brush, sweep the ritual space three times counterclockwise. In this way, you expel negative energy from your personal space. You can also sweep the floor, then the space around you and above your head.

After sweeping, circle the circle clockwise three times, visualizing the barrier along a real or imaginary line, which you can draw in the air with the index finger of the dominant hand. Some people use a ritual knife for this purpose to “scare” entities. If you decide to use a ritual knife, choose one that is double-edged with a black handle. Remember that this knife should only be used for rituals of defensive magic and no longer for any other purpose. Each person has their own ways of visualization. You can visualize a protective circle in the form of a stone, a fiery wall and even a fence of barbed wire, etc.

Then you should clear every object, symbolizing the elements, from any negative energy and place it in your magic circle.

Turn to the north, which is associated with the power of the Earth. Pointing to a jar of salt with a forefinger or a ritual knife, say: "From this earth I drive out all negative energies and black magic." Lift the tank with salt up and say: "Welcome, watchmen of the north, the power of the Earth." Visualize the power of earthquakes and the hardest stones and metals in the world to protect yourself. Repeat the entire ritual in the same sequence for each element as you go around the circle clockwise.

Then turn towards the east. Over frankincense or another symbol of Air, you can say: "From this air I drive out all negative energies and black magic." When visualizing the energy of a hurricane that can sweep away any of your enemies, say: "Welcome, guardians of the east, the power of Air." Walk in a circle three times clockwise with incense or another object to attract positive energy into your circle.

Turning to the south, clear the element of Fire: "From this fire I expel all negative energies and black magic." When visualizing the energy of a burning heat, for example, a fire in the night, which scares off predatory animals, say: “Welcome, watchmen of the south, the power of Fire. Walk in a circle three times clockwise with a lighted candle or with an object to attract positive energy into your circle.

Finally, turning to the west, say: "From this water I expel all negative energies and black magic." Before you lift the vessel with water in the direction of the west, add three pinches of salt from the north. Purified salt gives the water magical properties. Such water can be used to protect oneself or other people / objects and expel negative energies. Raise the vessel with water and say: "Welcome, watchmen of the West, the power of Water." Imagine how a huge wave washes away all the malice of those approaching you. Go around the magic circle three times clockwise with a jar of water. Sprinkle circle boundaries with water to clear space and attract the positive energies of the element.

By this time you have already cleared the negative and expelled all evil spirits from personal space and attracted into it the protective forces of all four elements. Before you go to bed or start a magical ritual, ask for help from the higher forces you believe in. Use simple prayer to summon the source of the power of power of your choice.

Take three deep breaths and listen to your feelings: you can get a message or a sign, which is especially important during the ritual, as this sign can be a warning of danger.

After creating a magic circle, you can safely spell for yourself any spells, enchant or perform other magic rituals. It is best not to go beyond the magic circle, which was created to protect you, but if you have a pressing need, quickly “cut” a small hole in the circle with the index finger of your dominant hand, and after returning, “close the hole” in the same way. However, note that such a “hole” weakens the power of the magic circle, which is used to concentrate the energy needed for defensive magic spells. The weakening of the boundaries of the protective circle can also end up in which elementals penetrate it, attracted by the elements of the elements that you use in the ritual. Thus, if you want to use the protection circle, you must “remove” the circle completely and then install it again. Therefore, I offer you the easiest method of removing the magic circle of protection, so that if necessary it could be done as quickly as possible.

After the completion of the ritual, the circle must be destroyed, and should begin with an expression of gratitude to the higher forces (deities). Of course, you need to ask them to continue to protect you. All other energies of the four elements you must allow to leave the circle with respectful words. You can imagine how a circle breaks or disappears gradually, turning into nothing, leaving only the smell of incense or perfume. Your magic circle is open, but you can restore it at any time. Even if at this moment you do not have all the necessary items to create a magic circle, you can use your imagination and create protective circle effects when it is really necessary.

The circle is a symbolic form that was used for magical purposes around the world in antiquity. It has many different meanings and functions, each of which can be used in the practice of Wicca (earth magic) as a coven (group), as a pair or as a loner. The boundaries of the circle share what is inside and outside. He has no end and no beginning, therefore he personifies eternity. The space inside the circle is considered a place outside the usual space and time. And, of course, the rituals performed inside the circle always seem to be absorbed in their own time structures, with “normal” time clocks that fly in an instant. Outside the circle, there is the usual time and reality, and by its boundaries the two worlds are divided in each mind For magical purposes, the circle is usually used to guard against unwanted influences and energies, and to hold the released energy during magical work until a certain point. In this case, the released force can be focused on its specific target before it is sent beyond the boundaries of the circle.

Building a Circle

  Clear the space and mark the boundaries of the circle on the floor. In the original, it should be 3 meters in diameter, but another suitable size would also be appropriate. Mark it with something that you can then erase: flour, salt, chalk or seasonal flowers and sprigs. Place the altar in the North and place a candle at four points of the circle (North, East, South, West). Candles should be inside the circle. Always remember that you can adapt Wiccan rituals and practices to suit you.

Sweeping circle

  Take a broom and sweep the circle from the middle to the ends clockwise. You can hum:

Mark, mark, mark away
  All the worries of the day
  Cast out the shadow, cast out the evil

Make the circle safe and strong.
Put the broom aside and go inside the circle. Stay a few seconds in silence, feeling the sacredness of the place around you. Now go to the altar to sanctify the water and salt.

Water blessing

Moving clockwise, draw a shining protective wall or sphere growing around you. Make sure you enclose the altar and all the necessary tools inside the security fence. While drawing a circle, say:

The circle of sacraments, you are built today by my intention and the intention of the Goddess and God. A sacred place created between time and space, not belonging to either people or gods, protect me in the process of magical work and direct the awakened power inside the circle. In the name of the Goddess and God, I sanctify and consecrate you.

Summoning quarters

  The elements personify the forces of nature that make up the material world of the cosmos. Elementals - the creation of elements that, if left unattended, can cause harm. Elementals are controlled by higher spiritual beings - Guardians or Observers. Their names may vary in different traditions.
  After constructing the circle, you will need to awaken the elements and the corresponding elementals. Some (but not all) Wiccans call Guardians to control elementals.

To get started, take the bell from the altar and call 3 times (Goddess number), take a short pause and call 2 times (God number).

Earth (North)

  Go clockwise with the pentacle and stop at each quarter, saying:

Air (East)

Water (West)

  Go clockwise with a bowl of salt water and splash the edge of the circle, saying:

I call upon the element of water to bless this circle, may it bring inner vision in the process of my magical work today.

Summon Guardians

  It's up to you whether to call them or not. The guards are called upon to draw petagrams in the air with the aid of the attack. The northern guard is called first and closes last. This is because the North is associated with the Goddess and God.

North Guard

  Stand in the Northern Quarter and draw a pentagram, starting from the top corner to the bottom left corner, say:
  Boreas, the lord of the North and the observer of the North, with this sign I summon, confuse and invoke your source of strength. Be for me a protector and conductor of the Northern Portals.

East Guard

  Stand in the Eastern quarter and draw a pentagram, starting from the upper right corner to the upper left, say:

South Guard

  Stand in the Southern quarter and draw a pentagram, starting from the top corner to the bottom right corner, say:

West Guard

  Stand in the Western quarter and draw a pentagram, starting from the upper left to the upper right, say:

Blessing and sanctification

  Any items that will be used for magical work must be consecrated at this stage — for example, the ingredients for a talisman sack or spell. Anyway, cakes and wine that are present in all Wiccan rituals should be blessed.
Some Wiccans sanctify and bless pies and wine at this stage of the ritual, some do it at the end. Any remnants of consecrated or uninitiated food can be eaten after the ritual.

Blessing of Work Items

  Carry the object through the flame of fire on the altar and say:

I sanctify you by the power of fire.
  In the name of the Goddess and God, may all evil be burned,

At the same time, visualize the energy of the flame, surrounding and filling the object with your power. Repeat the above spell, inserting the name of the air element when you bring the object through the incense smoke from the censer. Do the same with water, bringing the object over a dish of salt water, and finally, with the ground, carrying it over the pentacle.

Blessing wine

  Most Wiccans choose red wine because its color represents blood, the sacred substance of life. Although sometimes instead of wine they drink cider, beer or honey drink. You can also use milk or apple / grape juice. Pour the wine into the bowl and place it on the pentacle on the altar. Dip atam blade in wine and say:
  Atam is male, the bowl is female, united, may they bring blessings. I bless this wine, atam to the cup, man to woman, heaven to earth. Be blessed.

Blessing festive pies

  Festive cakes / moon cakes are eaten at all festive and simple rituals that personifies the abundance of the earth and the body of the Goddess. Those who eat them share the gifts of the earth. Put the pie dish on the pentacle. Draw the pentacle of the Earth over the pies in the air with a stick (as when summoning Boreas) and say:
  Mother Earth, I thank you for this food.
  And I ask that everyone who eats it be filled with health and happiness,
  Wisdom and love were full of wealth and blessings.
  Let it be so.
  At the end of drawing the pentagram, touch the end of the wand to the cakes as a sign of blessing. It is desirable to eat pies at the end of the ritual, since food grounds.

Prayers and chants

  Now that the magic circle has been built, you need to call upon the Goddess and God, and then sing the rune of power to increase the energy inside the circle for the subsequent ritual, spells, seasonal holidays.
  Here are two prayers to the Goddess and God, but you can also create your own. Remember that the Goddess and God are invited, never called; it would not be polite.

Rune of power

  The runes of power are not ancient symbols, but chants aimed at increasing energy in the process of ritual. The awakened energy is also known as the force cone, because resembles a cone-shaped witch hat. Coven witches usually join hands and dance round clockwise. Loner witches in the process of singing the runes should dance clockwise, you can spiral (you need to adapt the rune to yourself).

Grounding

  Rituals and visualization can leave you exhausted or with a huge amount of unspent magical energy. Staying in this condition can be dangerous. To ground, sit on the floor and contact the ground with your feet, palms and a soft spot. Feel the energy of the earth - it is strong, slow and smooth. Push this energy into your contact points and feel how it passes through your entire body. In the end, she goes back to the ground, taking excess energy, fatigue or negative with herself. When you feel that everything is ready, thank the land, and then drink the rest of the juice and eat the cakes (it also grounded well).
