Protective circle. Wicca Altar and magic circle. Prayers and chants

I want to talk about the ritual technique, which may require great effort - create a magic circle.

Magic circle   - this space, which is defined on the physical and astral planes. This protection is most often used for temporal concentration and energy conservation, which are generated during the imposition of the spell, which allows you to enhance its action while releasing all of these energies. When performing some rituals and spells, energy is concentrated, which is why I advise you to use the magic circle as an additional component. And now I will talk about the creation of the magic circle as a form of defensive magic, as it is traditionally used to contain negative energies and entities that penetrate the physical plane from the astral.

When you are ready to use your magical energy, you should be able to concentrate. You must be able to focus and visualize the magic. What you want should be completely clear in your mind. When you perform a magical act, you will create a tremendous amount of energy with your concentration forces, then when this energy is the most intense, you will send it to work for you.

Magic is a realistic art and science. However, magic is best used by optimists. First, magic requires the conviction that things can get better. In addition to optimism, another thing that unites magical practitioners is curiosity - the pursuit of knowledge.

For example, if you are tormented by bad dreams sent to you by the enemy or caused by the invasion of your space of a negative entity, you can create a magic circle around your bed before you sleep and then delete it after you wake up. Such protection is the most effective measure against human exposure to any otherworldly energy during sleep.

If you send positive energies, you will receive positive energy in return. It’s like he throws a pebble into a pond — every positive ripple you send can affect many, many things. Being a witch is more than spells. This is not for the doubles, this is not a hobby or pastime. Being a witch means you are following a certain path. Being a witch is a commitment and responsibility: for yourself, for the community, for the Earth and, if you have it, for your coven.

Known as the Council of Wise Men

In perfect love and perfect trust

Let the spell be cast into rhyme. Soft eye and light touch. Sing and dance the rune Wicca. Viddershin go when the moon weakens. And the werewolf howls with fear. Kiss her hand twice.

When the moon rides at its peak

That desire is your desire. Listen to the mighty storm of Northwind. Lock the door and release the sail. When the wind comes from the South. Love will kiss your mouth. When the wind blows from the East. Expect new and set holiday.

When the west wind blows on you

Nine forests in the cauldron go. Burn them quickly and burn them slowly. Do not burn or curse. When the wheel starts to turn. When the Wheel turned Julia. Light a log and give a rule to pan.

Pay attention to the flower, bush and tree

Drop the stone and the truth that you will know. Bright cheeks warm heart. Keep in mind the triple law you must. Three times bad and three times good. Put the blue star on your forehead. If your beloved will not lie to you.

It does not harm anyone, do what you want

Smart Witch Short Description Wiccan Red.

The magic circle is your personal protective barrier between you and both worlds - the physical and the astral. If you are going to rest at the campsite, bring everything you need with you. Surrounding yourself with the magic circle, you create your own small universe, so you will need to take some symbolic objects corresponding to the elements that make up our big universe. Fortunately, in magical practice, all components of the Universe are reflected in four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. All you need to create a magic circle is to visualize the four elements or to take care of their material incarnation.

Blessing and sanctification

Casting three times, however, respects the tradition of the three phases of the Goddess and God. In addition, three is a magic number, and it represents creativity. Although there is no need to show your magical intention, speaking rhyme spells actually give your mind something to do. This allows your unconscious to enter into your energy and the energy of the Goddess and God, and therefore the magic is done! Be gentle. Listen. When the moon is waxing - increasing - move around the magic circle in a clockwise direction to attract good things. When the moon decreases - it becomes smaller - move counterclockwise to remove the negative. Wolfsben is a poisonous plant. When the moon is new and has just become visible after dark, salute the lady. When the moon is full, pursue the desire of your heart — you can ask anything about it at this time of the month. The various elements are linked to the four main areas of the compass: North, East, South, and West. Nine species of magical wood can be burned in the cauldron during rituals: apple, birch, fir, hawthorn, hazel, oak, rowan, grapes and willow. But ancient wood should never burn, as the older trees are the lady. In honor of her, older trees are always spared. Turning the wheel is the cycle of the year. Yul is another Sabbath, and falls at the winder solstice. Be attentive and respectful to Nature, for the sake of Lady. Watch what happens when a stone rushes into the water: ripples spread. Similarly, your actions send ripples that affect everyone and everything. Do not fall for profits. Do not take money for magical work. You will be associated with the company you are keeping. Good to be among friends. Remember the Three-fold Law: everything you do comes back to you three times. When you have problems, visualize the blue pentagram on the forehead; it will protect you. Be faithful in love. But if your love is not true to you, forget about him or her. Eight words summarize a creed: if it hurts no one, do what you want.

  • You must abide by the laws of witchcraft with an attitude of perfect love and trust.
  • Respect people and nature.
  • Treat them the way you want to be treated.
  • Witches usually circle a circle in which they perform magic.
  • For the protection of a single casting.
The magical power is inherent in the earth.

I recommend using salt as a material symbol of the Earth, incense for Air, candles for Fire, and a cup of water for Water. Of course, if you don’t want candles and incense to burn when you sleep, you can use other symbols, for example: for Air - a perfume, a feather or even a balloon, and the Fire can be replaced with an electric lamp, preferably red, that will help you create this element in your imagination.

Through various ways we learned to use it. We hold the full, pure energy of the Universal Goddess and God, the highest. As witches, we know that we are a minute part of the universe. But we are connected with every other part of the universe. Everything affects us, and what we do affects everything.

If you do magic, it can really make a difference. As a witch, you must respect this. You have the opportunity to make a difference, and you can have a serious impact on people and their lives. With this power comes a great responsibility - to other people, animals, the Earth and to itself.

Determine the location for the magic circle. You can create it in your imagination or draw a line with chalk, salt, flour, or use a long rope. Your circle may be small and only cover your bed in a room or huge - to protect your entire house and property if you perform a blessing ritual in an open area. Using a brush, sweep the ritual space three times counterclockwise. In this way, you expel negative energy from your personal space. You can also sweep the floor, then the space around you and above your head.

Proposed altar plan

Practitioners of magic understand that what is perceived as the difference between physical and non-physical is explained by our limitations as material objects. Some of the tools used in the practice of magic are truly non-physical. Three of the most effective of them are music, dance and gestures. Writing and creating art can help free your conscious mind and focus on working magic.

The methods used to raise power, change consciousness and unite with the Goddess and God are often part of the ritual. In fact, effective, even powerful rites can be achieved with simple gestures. We honor dances and music as the earliest magical and religious acts. From the very beginning, practitioners of magic applied color, rhythm, gestures and physical postures in their craft.

After sweeping, circle the circle clockwise three times, visualizing the barrier along a real or imaginary line, which you can draw in the air with the index finger of the dominant hand. Some people use a ritual knife for this purpose to “scare” entities. If you decide to use a ritual knife, choose one that is double-edged with a black handle. Remember that this knife should only be used for rituals of defensive magic and no longer for any other purpose. Each person has their own ways of visualization. You can visualize a protective circle in the form of a stone, a fiery wall and even a fence of barbed wire, etc.

Blessing festive pies

For Wiccans, rituals are ceremonies that mark and strengthen relationships with the Goddess, God, and Earth. A simple rite may consist of the lonely famous, lighting the fire and chanting sacred names when she or he watches the moon rise. Conversely, the Wiccan rite may include many people, each of which has specific roles, speeches, and sentences in honor of the Divine.

Rites can be ancient, newly written or spontaneous. Any instrument or object — for example, atam, a crystal, or a chalice — for use in a spell or ritual must be cleansed and consecrated. As soon as the instrument is sanctified, it should be used only for magical purposes. It must be properly preserved so that its magical energy remains strong. If the instrument is enveloped in negative energy or spiritual debris, it can be re-cleaned and re-consecrated.

Then you should clear every object, symbolizing the elements, from any negative energy and place it in your magic circle.

Turn to the north, which is associated with the power of the Earth. Pointing to a jar of salt with a forefinger or a ritual knife, say: "From this earth I drive out all negative energies and black magic." Lift the tank with salt up and say: "Welcome, watchmen of the north, the power of the Earth." Visualize the power of earthquakes and the hardest stones and metals in the world to protect yourself. Repeat the entire ritual in the same sequence for each element as you go around the circle clockwise.

There are several ways to clean the tool before it is first used. Go through the smoke.

  • Place it on the rock salt layer for three days.
  • Leave it overnight in the light of the full moon.
  • Bury him on the ground for three days.
  • Wash it with clean spring water.
  • Wash it with ocean water.
When an instrument or object is cleaned, it must be consecrated. This is done on a new or full moon before the object is used in its spells or rituals. Several instruments can be consecrated at once, or a consecration ritual can be performed separately.

Then turn towards the east. Over frankincense or another symbol of Air, you can say: "From this air I drive out all negative energies and black magic." When visualizing the energy of a hurricane that can sweep away any of your enemies, say: "Welcome, guardians of the east, the power of Air." Walk in a circle three times clockwise with incense or another object to attract positive energy into your circle.

Symbolic altar zones

You will need: ritual space; small bright candle; sage wand; A fire-resistant stove large enough to hold a candle and sage; and small bowls of salt and spring water. Adjust your ritual space, then draw a magic circle or meditate until your mind becomes clear. Give your intention. Light a candle and sage. Take the tool in your hands and say: I sanctify this tool for magical purposes. He is freed from all his worldly energy to carry the energy of all the elements. Do the magical work - the Element of Fire. Pass the object over the candle flame and say: "It is blessed by the fire." Visualize the energy of the flame, filling the instrument with your power. Perform magical work - the Element of Air. Pass it through the sage and say, "Blessed through the air." Visualize the smoke filling the instrument with air force. Perform magical work - the Element of the Earth. Sprinkle it with salt and say: "It is blessed by the earth." Visualize the power of the earth by picking up a tool. Do the magic work - the element of water. Sprinkle it with water and say: "The water is blessed." Visualize the energy of the water that fills the instrument with its power. Repeat and clarify your intention. May it bring me health, wisdom and transformation. Thank the deities and set them free. Thank the goddess and the god for the help and for joining you, and then let them go: "Forgive and bless." Let the candle and the wise man burn. Release the quarters and open the circle.

  • If you throw a magic circle, call the quarters.
  • Name the quarters and their elements.
  • Elements will protect you and give strength to your goal.
  • Call the goddess and god.
Music, dance and gestures in ritual.

Turning to the south, clear the element of Fire: "From this fire I expel all negative energies and black magic." When visualizing the energy of a burning heat, for example, a fire in the night, which scares off predatory animals, say: “Welcome, watchmen of the south, the power of Fire. Walk in a circle three times clockwise with a lighted candle or with an object to attract positive energy into your circle.

The most effective and efficient rites can be achieved with simple gestures. From the very beginning, practitioners of magic used color, rhythm, gestures and physical postures. The ritual prescribes specific movements, manipulation of objects and a number of internal processes that are designed to create the desired effects.

For many of us, rituals are ceremonies that mark and strengthen our relationship with the Goddess, God, and Earth. A simple rite may consist of the lonely famous, illuminating the fire and chanting the sacred names when she or he watches the moon rise.

Finally, turning to the west, say: "From this water I expel all negative energies and black magic." Before you lift the vessel with water in the direction of the west, add three pinches of salt from the north. Purified salt gives the water magical properties. Such water can be used to protect oneself or other people / objects and expel negative energies. Raise the vessel with water and say: "Welcome, watchmen of the West, the power of Water." Imagine how a huge wave washes away all the malice of those approaching you. Go around the magic circle three times clockwise with a jar of water. Sprinkle circle boundaries with water to clear space and attract the positive energies of the element.

By this time you have already cleared the negative and expelled all evil spirits from personal space and attracted into it the protective forces of all four elements. Before you go to bed or start a magical ritual, ask for help from the higher forces you believe in. Use simple prayer to summon the source of the power of power of your choice.

PRAYER CALL: I call You (You) [God (s) / Goddess (s) / archangel / Sacred Spirit / Universe / Higher Self / etc.].

PROMOTION: You, who is my love, protector and patron, I praise you!

PLEASE FOR HELP: Thank you for protecting me from the curses and negative entities of my body, mind and spirit YOUR TERM: From now on and forever.

IMPERATIVE SAFETY: Without harm to any living creature and only for the highest good of all. Let it be so!

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS: In return, I offer you (higher powers) [gratitude / love and dedication / other offer].

BLESSING: Be blessed!

Take three deep breaths and listen to your feelings: you can get a message or a sign, which is especially important during the ritual, as this sign can be a warning of danger.

After creating a magic circle, you can safely spell for yourself any spells, enchant or perform other magic rituals. It is best not to go beyond the magic circle, which was created to protect you, but if you have a pressing need, quickly “cut” a small hole in the circle with the index finger of your dominant hand, and after returning, “close the hole” in the same way. However, note that such a “hole” weakens the power of the magic circle, which is used to concentrate the energy needed for defensive magic spells. The weakening of the boundaries of the protective circle can also end up in which elementals penetrate it, attracted by the elements of the elements that you use in the ritual. Thus, if you want to use the protection circle, you must “remove” the circle completely and then install it again. Therefore, I offer you the easiest method of removing the magic circle of protection, so that if necessary it could be done as quickly as possible.

After the completion of the ritual, the circle must be destroyed, and should begin with an expression of gratitude to the higher forces (deities). Of course, you need to ask them to continue to protect you. All other energies of the four elements you must allow to leave the circle with respectful words. Run each quarter of a circle counterclockwise, starting again with a quarter of north. Thank the guards of the Earth and ask them to return to their realms, but always be ready to continue to protect you. Repeat the same words of gratitude to the guards of Air, Fire and Water. Walk the circle four times with the symbols of the elements in your hands, respectively, to receive the blessing and release the energy of the elements.

Thank you, guardians of the Earth! I ask you to return to your world of the north and still be ready to protect me.

Thank you, water guards! I ask you to return to your world of the West and still be ready to protect me.

Thank you guardians of fire! I ask you to return to your world of the south and still be ready to protect me.

Thank you Air Guardians! I ask you to return to your world of the east and still be ready to protect me. *

Now open the circle with the index finger of your dominant hand, as if you were cutting it. You can imagine how a circle breaks or disappears gradually, turning into nothing, leaving only the smell of incense or perfume. Your magic circle is open, but you can restore it at any time. Even if at this moment you do not have all the necessary items to create a magic circle, you can use your imagination and create protective circle effects when it is really necessary.

The circle is a symbolic form that was used for magical purposes around the world in antiquity. It has many different meanings and functions, each of which can be used in the practice of Wicca (earth magic) as a coven (group), as a pair or as a loner. The boundaries of the circle share what is inside and outside. He has no end and no beginning, therefore he personifies eternity. The space inside the circle is considered a place outside the usual space and time. And, of course, the rituals performed inside the circle always seem to be absorbed in their own time structures, with “normal” time clocks that fly in an instant. Outside the circle, there is the usual time and reality, and by its boundaries the two worlds are divided in each mind For magical purposes, the circle is usually used to guard against unwanted influences and energies, and to hold the released energy during magical work until a certain point. In this case, the released force can be focused on its specific target before it is sent beyond the boundaries of the circle.

Building a Circle

Clear the space and mark the boundaries of the circle on the floor. In the original, it should be 3 meters in diameter, but another suitable size would also be appropriate. Mark it with something that you can then erase: flour, salt, chalk or seasonal flowers and sprigs. Place the altar in the North and place a candle at four points of the circle (North, East, South, West). Candles should be inside the circle. Always remember that you can adapt Wiccan rituals and practices to suit you.

Sweeping circle

Take a broom and sweep the circle from the middle to the ends clockwise. You can hum:

Mark, mark, mark away
All the worries of the day
Cast out the shadow, cast out the evil

Make the circle safe and strong.
Put the broom aside and go inside the circle. Stay a few seconds in silence, feeling the sacredness of the place around you. Now go to the altar to sanctify the water and salt.

Water blessing

Put a bowl of water on the pentacle. Take an atom and slowly touch the surface of the water with it. Visualize the electric blue glow from the blade into the water and say:
I sanctify this water in the name of God and Goddess. Let there be no harm in it, only good that will help my work today.

Salt blessing

Put the bowl of salt on the pentacle. Stick atame into it and visualize the blue light entering the salt. Say:
I sanctify this salt in the name of God and Goddess. Let there be no harm in it, only good that will help my work today.
Sprinkle some salt in water and leave for later.

Drawing a circle

Take Atam, stand face to the North, near the altar. Extend your arm with the amtam and visualize the blue light coming from the blade. Moving clockwise, draw a shining protective wall or sphere growing around you. Make sure you enclose the altar and all the necessary tools inside the security fence. While drawing a circle, say:

The circle of sacraments, you are built today by my intention and the intention of the Goddess and God. A sacred place created between time and space, not belonging to either people or gods, protect me in the process of magical work and direct the awakened power inside the circle. In the name of the Goddess and God, I sanctify and consecrate you.

Summoning quarters

The elements personify the forces of nature that make up the material world of the cosmos. Elementals - the creation of elements that, if left unattended, can cause harm. Elementals are controlled by higher spiritual beings - Guardians or Observers. Their names may vary in different traditions.
After constructing the circle, you will need to awaken the elements and the corresponding elementals. Some (but not all) Wiccans call Guardians to control elementals.

To get started, take the bell from the altar and call 3 times (Goddess number), take a short pause and call 2 times (God number).

Earth (North)

Go clockwise with the pentacle and stop at each quarter, saying:
I call upon the element of earth to bless this circle, may it protect me with a grounding force in the process of my magical work today.

Air (East)

Carry clockwise the incense burner from the altar, saying:
I call on the element of air to bless this circle, may it convey my prayers to the Goddess and God in the process of my magical work today.

Fire (South)

Take one of the altar candles and carry it clockwise, stopping next to each quarter and saying:
I call upon the fire element to consecrate this circle, let it bring inspiration and passion in the process of my magical work today.

Water (West)

Go clockwise with a bowl of salt water and splash the edge of the circle, saying:

I call upon the element of water to bless this circle, may it bring inner vision in the process of my magical work today.

Summon Guardians

It's up to you whether to call them or not. The guards are called upon to draw petagrams in the air with the aid of the attack. The northern guard is called first and closes last. This is because the North is associated with the Goddess and God.

North Guard

Stand in the Northern Quarter and draw a pentagram, starting from the top corner to the bottom left corner, say:
Boreas, the lord of the North and the observer of the North, with this sign I summon, confuse and invoke your source of strength. Be for me a protector and conductor of the Northern Portals.

East Guard

Stand in the Eastern quarter and draw a pentagram, starting from the upper right corner to the upper left, say:
Eurus, lord of the East and observer of the East, with this sign I summon, confuse and invoke your source of strength. Be for me a protector and conductor of the Eastern Portals.

South Guard

Stand in the Southern quarter and draw a pentagram, starting from the top corner to the bottom right corner, say:
Notus, lord of the South and observer of the South, with this sign I summon, confuse and invoke your source of strength. Be for me a protector and conductor of the South Portals.

West Guard

Stand in the Western quarter and draw a pentagram, starting from the upper left to the upper right, say:
Zephyrus, lord of the West and observer of the West, with this sign I summon, confuse and invoke the source of your power. Be for me a protector and conductor of Western portals.

Blessing and sanctification

Any items that will be used for magical work must be consecrated at this stage — for example, the ingredients for a talisman sack or spell. Anyway, cakes and wine that are present in all Wiccan rituals should be blessed.
Some Wiccans sanctify and bless pies and wine at this stage of the ritual, some do it at the end. Any remnants of consecrated or uninitiated food can be eaten after the ritual.

Blessing of Work Items

Carry the object through the flame of fire on the altar and say:

I sanctify you by the power of fire.
In the name of the Goddess and God, may all evil be burned,
To make it a tool of my intention.

At the same time, visualize the energy of the flame, surrounding and filling the object with your power. Repeat the above spell, inserting the name of the air element when you bring the object through the incense smoke from the censer. Do the same with water, bringing the object over a dish of salt water, and finally, with the ground, carrying it over the pentacle.

Blessing wine

Most Wiccans choose red wine because its color represents blood, the sacred substance of life. Although sometimes instead of wine they drink cider, beer or honey drink. You can also use milk or apple / grape juice. Pour the wine into the bowl and place it on the pentacle on the altar. Dip atam blade in wine and say:
Atam is male, the bowl is female, united, may they bring blessings. I bless this wine, atam to the cup, man to woman, heaven to earth. Be blessed.

Blessing festive pies

Festive cakes / moon cakes are eaten at all festive and simple rituals that personifies the abundance of the earth and the body of the Goddess. Those who eat them share the gifts of the earth. Put the pie dish on the pentacle. Draw the pentacle of the Earth over the pies in the air with a stick (as when summoning Boreas) and say:
Mother Earth, I thank you for this food.
And I ask that everyone who eats it be filled with health and happiness,
Wisdom and love were full of wealth and blessings.
  Let it be so.
At the end of drawing the pentagram, touch the end of the wand to the cakes as a sign of blessing. It is desirable to eat pies at the end of the ritual, since food grounds.

Prayers and chants

Now that the magic circle has been built, you need to call upon the Goddess and God, and then sing the rune of power to increase the energy inside the circle for the subsequent ritual, spells, seasonal holidays.
Here are two prayers to the Goddess and God, but you can also create your own. Remember that the Goddess and God are invited, never called; it would not be polite.

Prayer to the goddess

Lo, Goddess, gentle lady,
I come to you with a heart kindled in love
  Burning your wisdom
About the one called Isis, Kerridven,
Ishtar, Brigit, Hathor, Demeter, Dana,
I call you in my circle today,
Hear me in the light of the moon,
Show me your face in a dream or a vision,
  And listen to my request
The mighty mother of all of us, living and dead,
Come down to me, I beg you,
  Welcome to my circle
  O honorable Goddess!

Prayer to God

God with many names, sovereign of changeable appearance,
  Cernunnos, king of the wilderness,
  Hear my plea
And come, whirling in the dance,
  Over the grass,
  Through cement deserts
And bring your spirit of great joy
  In my celebrations and rituals,
My God has many faces, God of all good,
I ask you to bring wisdom to my needs and deeds,
Fill my cup so that I can read you again.

Rune of power

The runes of power are not ancient symbols, but chants aimed at increasing energy in the process of ritual. The awakened energy is also known as the force cone, because resembles a cone-shaped witch hat. Coven witches usually join hands and dance round clockwise. Loner witches in the process of singing the runes should dance clockwise, you can spiral (you need to adapt the rune to yourself).
  Here is the "Circular Rune":

Circle around, hand in hand,
We call upon the powers of the earth,
The cord that binds us all,
  All flights, swims and walks,
The power of the land and the sea
  The moon and the sun
  Life and light
  So happen
The power of stone and wood
  And the ancient law,
  Taper of force
  Everything increases
  Fire and Water,
  Air and earth
  Bring us
  What we want
The dance is finished, the song is finished,
  What we want will happen
What we want, it will happen.

(Repeat the last row until the high priestess says "stop"; for singles: repeat as you see fit).
Now you can proceed to the celebration or begin the magical work (Remember: the celebration is first, and only then the magical work). If the celebration is not expected, you can immediately proceed to the magical work. You can eat your moon cakes with wine right now or after closing the circle.

Closing the circle

After the ritual, thank the gods and the spirits, let them go and close the circle. This is a good magical "hygiene", because if magical energies remain, strange things can happen.
Stand in the East, holding atam in your hands, and draw a farewell pentagram for the Eastern Guardian, starting from the upper left corner to the upper right corner, and say:
Eurus, Lord of the East and Guardian of the East, thank you for your presence and protection today. As this circle closes, you will return to your world, farewell.
Repeat the same for the South and the West, using the appropriate names and directions of the world (see above) and farewell pentagrams: South - from the upper corner to the lower left, West - from the right upper to the left upper.
Now do the same with the North, drawing the farewell pentagram from the bottom left corner to the top corner, say:
Boreas, Lord of the North and Guardian of the North, the great God and gentle Goddess, I thank you for your presence today. Ring the bell 10 times, blow out the candles, close the circle (go clockwise and visualize how the protective wall returns to the blade of the gun), return the tools to their storage location. Now ground yourself.

Grounding

Rituals and visualization can leave you exhausted or with a huge amount of unspent magical energy. Staying in this condition can be dangerous. To ground, sit on the floor and contact the ground with your feet, palms and a soft spot. Feel the energy of the earth - it is strong, slow and smooth. Push this energy into your contact points and feel how it passes through your entire body. In the end, she goes back to the ground, taking excess energy, fatigue or negative with herself. When you feel that everything is ready, thank the land, and then drink the rest of the juice and eat the cakes (it also grounded well).
